Axel Herr - Atlantis Arising

Axel Herr is a German virtuoso pianist and composer. He developped a very special and unique improvisation style on his piano combining jazz and classical elements.

From 1990 to 1992 he made a side trip into the world of synthesizers and recorded a couple of very interesting and stunning synthesizer tracks. The best of these tracks from his personal archives are now released for the first time.

Unfortunately this material has only survived in an analogue stereo mix version. No multitrack master sources exist from this creative period. So the final release is occasionally revealing some slight technical sound limitations. Nevertheless fans of both "electronica" and German "kraut rock" will surely like these rare gems taken from the private archives. Similar to his improvisational style with the piano Axel Herr even improvised the single synthesizer tracks one after the other. He did not edit the recorded data with the help of a computer or sequencer tool.

Among the equipment Axel Herr used at that time he remembers the Roland U-110, the Roland Juno-106, Kawai K 1, Roland FP-8 and Yamaha DX7 synthesizers.
"Atlantis Arising" is Axel Herr's third album release for Tunimedia after the two albums with piano improvisations "Voice Of December" (released 2007) and "Worlds Inside" (2008).
